Susila Dharma Zakat Donations

Indeed, generosity and charity go hand-In-hand with the worship of God. Why is that? It is because the fruit that comes from human beings worshiping God is generosity.

Dear brothers and sisters,
We pray that everyone, whether you observe the Ramadan fast or not, receives God’s grace and blessings.

This year we are highlighting three projects for Zakat donations. International Child Development Program, Radiance Integrative Health and Wellness and Yayasan Tambuhak Sinta. All un-earmarked donations will be shared equally among these three projects.

International Child Development Program (ICDP) is a competence-building organization in the field of psycho-social and educational care for children. ICDP has run programs all over the world. This year their focus is in 2 communities in Brazil.

They will be running their program in conjunction with the local government to focus on early childhood development, by promoting positive parenting and for offering simple, accessible and effective practices that enhance care, affection and dialogue between caregivers and children up to 6 years of age. This program will train 20 professionals and help 40 families.

Radiance Integrative Health and Wellness is a non-profit based in Portland Oregon. Radiance provides integrative, evidence-based health care that honors the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of individuals, couples and underserved communities. Radiance services bridge the gap between mental and physical health care offering holistic trauma-informed services rooted in compassion, connection and community care. At this time they serve around 150 clients. The funds from SD will help their program run more efficiently and provide more care for their clients. (online: www.Radiancewellness.org)

Yayasan Tambuhak Sinta (YTS) was established in 1998 and began working in the seven villages of Bukit Batu in 2009. They are focused in Agroforestry to help farmers in the district of Bukit Batu in Central Kalimantan.

Their current project, Climate Resilient Farming through Agroforestry and the empowerment of FUBN-KUB (local business), is focused on continuing to assist the 25 farmers already practicing agroforestry and adding an additional 75 farmers to the program. Their projects help Indigenous farmers to increase production yields and income by diversifying market access and adopting agricultural practices that are more adaptive to climate change. YTS contributes to land clearing costs, supplies (fertilizers etc.), and tree seedlings (fruit, timber etc.). YTS also works in conjunction with YUM (an SD project) to design and deliver agroforestry training for farmers, emphasizing practical techniques for sustainable land management. Over the next 2 years this project is expected to benefit the entire population of Bukit Batu, some 14,689 people. (online: www.tambuhaksinta.com)
