Michael Barber Vice Chair
Michael’s degree is in Education but he spent the first half of his life as an aspiring singer/songwriter and the second half in IT, retiring in 2015. Now he studies jazz piano and serves as a local helper in Subud New York. He lives in Manhattan with his wife Christine.

Lucas Boladian Treasurer
A former New Yorker, after a 25 year stint in IT and another 22 years in the family’s retail business, Lucas retired and is now living in Jacksonville, Florida. Previously involved in various Subud committee roles, Lucas is now part of the group planning for the next World Congress in Fatima, Portugal, while also providing the treasurer role for SD USA.

Loretta Covert Director
Loretta was opened in San Diego, California in 1988. Over the years, she has served on many committee and helper dewans and was our National Helper liaison before joining our board.
Loretta is retired from 35 years as a practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine and currently resides in Crestone, CO, where she raised a family with her late husband Lionnell. She has lived in Crestone for 26 years.
She enjoys playing guitar and is an avid gardener. Loretta is a working member of the Atalanta Cooperative Garden that serves the local community by providing the opportunity to participate in a permaculture garden and supply fresh food for the local food bank. She also serves on the board of directors of the Atalanta Association.

Jane Katz Director
Jane retired in 2017 after 20 years teaching special education, young children with autism and other special needs. She enjoyed this work and was interested in all aspects of it. Retirement has brought enjoyment of a broader range of experiences, more time outside, hiking, and gardening. She looks forward to serving on the Susila Dharma Board and being useful to the worthy projects SD supports. Jane lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Luqman. Between them they have five children and ten grandchildren. Before coming to Los Angeles in 1999, Jane was a member of the Denver Subud group, functioning as helper and treasurer.

Sofia Nicoletti Director
Sofia is now retired and divides her time between Flagstaff, AZ and Belmont, CA (in the Bay Area). Her working life was in Flagstaff, where she earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Northern Arizona University. Her first job was assistant to the curator of the Museum of Northern Arizona, where she established strong ties with members of the Hopi Tribe, attending numerous ceremonies and family events. She later accepted a position with the Flagstaff Public Schools, first as a secondary English teacher, and later as a counselor for students and their families, grades K – 12. Soon after retirement, Sofia returned to the Museum of Northern Arizona as a docent. She currently serves on her Flagstaff HOA board, working on fire prevention and flood mitigation projects with neighbors and county officials. Sofia and her husband have a daughter, Brigitte, who is an attorney in the East Bay, representing clients with social justice and housing issues.
Sofia was opened in 1979, serving as treasurer for her local group, then as a local, regional, and national helper. Her husband, David, has also served in both committee and helper roles. Both are grateful for their opportunities to serve Subud. As an SD Board member, Sofia hopes you will reach out to her with any ideas or suggestions you may have.

Rasjidah Franklin Director
Rasjidah is a retired educator, having taught all levels of school from elementary through university doctoral studies. At the University of California, Berkeley, she directed the Education Extension Department where she managed programs ranging from teacher credentialing through Educational Therapy Learning Centers, College Career Counseling Certificate and English as a Second Language Programs. She has held numerous grants for working with marginalized youth, especially in environmental projects. She is a former Chair of Subud USA and a former Director of the Muhammad Subuh Foundation.
Rasjidah now lives in Chico, California, and enjoys farming, landscape painting and community involvement.

Reynold Orchard
Reynold was opened in Subud in 1962 at age 18, in Vancouver, BC, Canada. His parents were opened two years prior to that. Since 1989 he has been a helper and have served as regional helper in both Canada and the US. Through Bapak’s advice, he studied medicine, eventually in Belgium in the Dutch language, and concluded clinical studies in Canada. His specialty is Family Medicine, with fellowship in Integrative medicine. In 1986, he began practice in Canada and moved to the United States in 1997.Married to Josephina for 21 years, they each have two children from previous marriages. They are now both retired and live in Winston Salem NC.Reynold feels blessed to be able to serve the Subud brotherhood as National Helper liaison to SDUSA.

Rifka Several
Rifka Several served for many years as a Susila Dharma director and board secretary, and now is the office manager. She is retired from the Las Positas College Foundation and now is a board member of Susila Dharma International.
